The Manhattan Park District was established in 1964 and serves a region of nearly 36 square miles encompassing all of Manhattan Township. Over the past 15 years, our community has grown to nearly 10,000 people and continues to grow each year. As expected, the Park District has grown as well! Currently, we have nearly 270 acres of property and 10 developed parks and facilities and it’s our goal to be your primary resource for you and your family’s recreational needs!
To help us reach this goal, we are asking for your input in developing the path to our future in serving you! Public Research Group, an independent research firm, working with our master plan consultant Design Perspectives, has been selected to conduct this survey. The community input collected from this survey will be used in developing an update to our Comprehensive Master Plan for the next five years which will identify parks and recreation needs as well as help establish priorities for the future. Your response to our survey is extremely important.
Thank you for taking the time to do this. If you should have any additional comments you wish to express to me personally, please feel free to contact me at 815-478-3324 ext. 208.
Jay Kelly,
Executive Director
